Raymond Sutton Sr

Raymond Sutton, Sr. passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the age of 91. Raymond, affectionately known as "Teco," was born in Reserve, Louisiana, where he spent his entire life. A dedicated and hardworking man, Raymond was a master roofer and a highly skilled sheet metal fabricator. Alongside his brother, Leonard "Docile" Sutton, he co-owned a successful roofing business and remained committed to his craft until retiring at the age of 76. Raymond married the love of his life, Eileen, and together they built a loving home while raising four children, each of whom he cherished deeply. He found great joy in the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Family was the center of Raymond's life. He treasured every opportunity to spend with family, whether cooking together, watching football, or sharing stories and fond memories. A devoted and proud grandfather, Raymond took great pride in helping raise his grandchildren, offering them unwavering love, guidance, and support. Beloved husband of the late Eileen Becnel Sutton. Loving father of Raymond Sutton, Jr. (Belkys), Todd Sutton (Bonnie), Hollie Rouquette (Chris) and Ann Marie Capps (Carl). Grandfather of Dustin (Brandy), Jonathon (Chrystina), Bridget, Joshua, Cody (Alex), Taylor (Tyler), Spencer (Devon), Amanda, Christina, Chris (Lindsey), Daniela, Gabriela, Kelly, and Kimberly. Great grandfather of Aubrey, Ivy, Valerie and Renee. Son of the late Lolita Sutton and Oliver J. Sutton, Sr. Brother of the late Oliver Sutton, Jr., Ruth Bourgeois, Antoinette Sutton, Norman Sutton, Ethel Champagne, Dorothy Champagne, Floyd Sutton, Francise Gary Sutton, Lois Faucheux, Leonard Sutton and Blanche Brady. He is survived by his siblings Patricia Martin and Philip Sutton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1550 Hwy. 44, Reserve, LA on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Visitation will be held at church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve, LA. Arrangements by Millet-Guidry Funeral Home.
