John Harold Maurin

March 27, 1928 - January 31, 2017

John Harold Maurin passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. He was 88, a native of Reserve, LA and a resident of LaPlace, LA. Beloved son of the late Leona McHugh and Fortune Maurin, Jr. Brother of McHugh Maurin, Richard ‘Dickie’ Maurin, Sarah Duhe, Susan Maurin and the late Marian Coffee, Elsie Lasseigne, Mildred Young, Constance Shaver and Fortune H. Maurin, III. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He graduated from LSU, served our country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, worked for Shell Oil and retired from Dupont. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1550 Hwy 44, Reserve on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Peter Cemetery.
