Gwendolyn Mary Lemonier

Gwendolyn Mary Lemonier, lovingly known as Gwen–or “Fluffy” to her grandchildren–entered eternal rest peacefully on April 3, 2026, at the age of 87, in Metairie, Louisiana. Gwen was born on March 2, 1939, in Garyville, Louisiana, to the late Leo and Odette Millet. She is survived by her loving siblings, Barbara Millet, Carol Vicknair, and Jean Millet; her children, Will Tregre (Donna), Jan Labiche (Franck), and Glenn Tregre; her stepdaughter, Lori Adams (John); her adored grandchildren, Adrienne Hoerner (Cade), Lily LaBiche and Cameron and Carson Tregre; and her step granddaughters, Emily Lemonier and Megan Hatcher (Trey), who were all a constant source of joy in her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Leo Millet, Dorothy Millet, Roland Millet, Jacqueline Kern, Lyle Millet, Minette Montegut, and David Millet; her former spouse, Bill Tregre; her stepson, Donald John Lemonier, Jr.; and her beloved husband, Don Lemonier. Gwen was a graduate of Leon Godchaux High School in Reserve and Soule Business College in New Orleans. After marrying and settling down in The Big Easy, she devoted her early years as a wife to raising her three children before beginning a successful career. She worked at Greg Randon Studio, Stephens Imports, The Mathes Group, and New Orleans Steamboat Company before retiring from Don Randon Real Estate. On July 4, 2000, Gwen married her dear husband, Don Lemonier, in Jamaica. Together, they traveled the world and built a joyful life in Uptown New Orleans, where they hosted many cherished family holidays and gatherings for nearly two decades. One of eleven siblings, Gwen held family at the very center of her heart. She was a free spirit with a deep love for travel and music and was always ready for adventure. Whether she was encouraging siblings and friends to dance at Jazz Fest, setting off on a cross-country trip to see Jimmy Buffett, dining out, shopping, reading, or spending time with her beloved dog, Daisy, Gwen found happiness in life’s moments both big and small. Gwen lived her life to the fullest with dignity, determination, and an unwavering sense of self. She leaves behind a legacy of independence, warmth, and love and will forever remain an inspiration to all who knew her. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the devoted staff and caregivers who looked after Gwen throughout her eight-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Visitation will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Reserve, Louisiana, on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.
