Jonathan Paul Perret

Jonathan Paul Perret, born on June 10 1993, in LaPlace LA was sent to peaceful, eternal rest on May 10, 2025. He was the beloved son of Gregory and Julia Perret. To know Jonathan was to immediately fall in love with him. He was the most selfless, loving, and gentle person. His presence was that of joy and lightness, with a playful touch of sarcasm that his friends and family knew all too well. He gave all of himself to those in his life and went out of his way to comfort and care for anyone, despite his own personal health battles. His smile was warm, his laughter was infectious, and his sense of humor was sharp. Jonathan is survived by his loving parents, Gregory and Julia, grandmother Joycelyn, his partner Jacob, brothers Matthew (Charlie) and Luke, niece Leila, his dog Cocoa Bean. Preceded in death by his grandparents Joseph and Alberta Boudoin, William “Billy” Perret. After his graduation from Louisiana State University, Jonathan soon moved to New Orleans and began a successful career in architecture, serving the city and beyond with his God-given talents and careful, refined eye. He was a hard-working and prized member of his professional team, was passionate about his career, and gave countless hours and time of his best effort. Outside of his professional work, Jonathan found joy in playing with his dear dog Cocoa Bean, hanging out with his friends and family, and any kind of social activity. He was a gifted cook and an even more gifted charcuterie board assembler, famous for his legendary spreads for those he loved. He was an avid reader whose book collection slowly overtook his and his partner’s home, yet still kept collecting until the very end. He loved arts and crafts and making things with his hands, gifting these gorgeous pieces to his friends and family. His gift-giving abilities were rivaled by none other, always able to locate the exact thing you mentioned months ago to put under the Christmas tree. His passions and gifts were only succeeded by his desire to include others and let them know just how much he loved them. Although Jonathan's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit lives on so strongly in every moment we share in laughter reminiscing together or when we’re alone in quiet reflection. Rest now, dear Jonathan, you are finally free. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Hwy., LaPlace and on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W. 5th St., LaPlace. The Funeral Mass will immediately follow the visitation in Church at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Dana Farber Institute, who specialize in Nut Carcinoma Research or the Lane Legacy Charity, who started the charity in Lane Chancellor's memory to help pay for travel expenses of NUT patients.
